Case Study

Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce

With more than 1,650 members representing than 650,000 employees, the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce (the Chamber) is the largest and most influential business association in Los Angeles County. Since 1888, the Chamber has championed economic prosperity and quality of life in Los Angeles County. Raben has supported the Chamber’s advocacy strategy on comprehensive immigration reform and related legislation. We have served as the Chamber’s eyes and ears in Washington on immigration issues at the federal level, keeping Chamber staff up to date on developments in immigration policy and identifying opportunities for engagement in the media, on the Hill, and on the state and local level around these issues.

Our efforts have included developing and executing an immigration advocacy strategy for the Chamber, as well as a related strategy for engaging other Chambers of Commerce around California and the region on immigration issues. We’ve helped the Chamber translate their understanding of why immigration has been a boon to Los Angeles County into a coherent advocacy message about the opportunity immigration represents for California, and the nation as well.

We also support the Chamber’s annual ACCESS Washington, DC, event, the LA region’s largest annual advocacy trip, which connects more than 200 business and civic leaders from the region with Congressional and executive branch officials. Raben supports the Chamber in developing policy priorities and advocating on education and workforce issues, and engaging with Congress, the administration, and national partners and stakeholders.
