Grace Carmichael is a manager in Raben's Government Affairs & Policy Counsel practice area. She brings a passion for civil rights, social justice, and community engagement with an extensive understanding of federal policy. Grace uses her experience to help clients advance legislative strategy and to uplift those most vulnerable in our communities.

Prior to joining Raben, Grace was a legislative assistant in the Washington office of Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-Ill.), where she coordinated legislative priorities and gained expertise in education, housing, labor, energy, environment, and women’s issues. Grace worked with policymakers, coalitions, and activists to establish the Congressional Caucus to End the Youth Vaping Epidemic, which promoted congressional investigations, elevated the work of grassroots organizing, and raised public awareness for children’s public health. She has also worked with residents of Flint, Michigan, by assisting them with accessing needed resources following the Flint Water Crisis while advocating for needed policy reforms in the Michigan State Legislature.

While hailing from Nashville, Tennessee, Grace holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Interdisciplinary Studies from Michigan State University, where she specialized in Community Governance and Advocacy. When she’s not working, you can find Grace discovering new bands at local music venues, befriending neighborhood dogs through her sitting service, or searching for the best chicken parmesan sandwich in D.C.
