Jared Todd is a senior associate in The Raben Group’s Media & Communications practice area, where he applies his communications experience to help his clients amplify their voice and engage their audiences. Jared passionately believes that the strategic use of language and messaging is a powerful catalyst for positive change.
Prior to joining Raben, Jared was director of external affairs for the Office of the Connecticut Lt. Governor, Susan Bysiewicz, where he managed and grew the office’s social media and digital outreach, developed compelling political editorials, speeches, and press events, and advised effective policy messaging. Jared also served as the lt. governor’s manager for constituent affairs, working closely with leadership from multiple state government agencies to resolve complex issues and responsively and proactively engage with constituents, local elected officials, nonprofit and business leaders.
Before serving in state government, Jared was a communications assistant at McDowell Communications Group in Hartford, Conn. There, he worked closely with senior leadership and a wide array of nonprofit organizations to develop strategic communications and media relations plans, produce engaging editorials, and develop social media content. He also co-managed the firm’s statewide media blog, The Laurel. Prior to McDowell Communications, Jared obtained invaluable journalistic skills and insight through internships and freelance work at a variety of local news organizations.
A first-generation college graduate, Jared graduated Magna Cum Laude from Central Connecticut State University with a bachelor’s degree in English. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, cooking, and exploring the Washington restaurant scene.
