Before serving in state government, Jared was a communications assistant at McDowell Communications Group in Hartford, Conn. There, he worked closely with senior leadership and a wide array of nonprofit organizations to develop strategic communications and media relations plans, produce engaging editorials, and develop social media content. He also co-managed the firm’s statewide media blog, The Laurel. Prior to McDowell Communications, Jared obtained invaluable journalistic skills and insight through internships and freelance work at a variety of local news organizations.

A first-generation college graduate, Jared graduated Magna Cum Laude from Central Connecticut State University with a bachelor’s degree in English. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, cooking, and exploring the Washington restaurant scene.
