Jessica McCall is a mission-driven strategist. As a principal at The Raben Group, she leverages her political intuition and “get it done” qualities to advance the agendas of nonprofits, government entities, and corporate leaders.

Before joining Raben, she served as the vice president of marketing and external affairs at Goodwill Industries of Greater Detroit (Goodwill Detroit), a full-service workforce development agency, where she secured over $4M in support of Goodwill Detroit’s prisoner reentry services. Immediately prior to joining Goodwill Detroit, she led Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan’s Department for Constituent Affairs, where she connected city residents to critical resources and developed tools that made Detroit’s city government more efficient and effective for its residents.

Before returning to Detroit in 2013, Jessica planned messaging and policy engagements throughout the world on behalf of the White House and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. She also served as a national advance lead and director of First Lady Michelle Obama’s campaign scheduling, respectively, during Barack Obama’s 2008 and 2012 presidential campaigns. Jessica began her career in public service in 2002 with then-gubernatorial candidate Jennifer Granholm and served in the governor’s administration in a wide range of capacities in the areas of operations/logistics and political appointments.

Born and raised in metro Detroit and a graduate of Michigan State, Jessica is committed to civic engagement and organizing underserved populations to advocate on behalf of their best interests. Inspired by her commitment to improving the quality of life for those living on the margins of society, Jessica returned to her home city with a mission to encourage Detroiters to move beyond the seat at the table to implement a strategy of convening the meeting and setting the agenda.
