John supports operations and partnership development for non-profit projects at the firm, including March on Washington Film Festival, Green 2.0, and Friends of the National Museum for the American Latino. His focus includes ensuring nonprofit compliance and board of directors management, tracking foundation and key grant deliverables, and supporting strategic partnerships and alliances with corporations and individuals.
At The Raben Group, John has assisted clients with their public policy and communications goals. Whether it’s logistically organizing and supporting major client lobby fly-ins, doing anything and everything from booking travel to scheduling Hill meetings and lobbying with constituents, to monitoring policy priorities on the Hill or elsewhere.
John also supports the firm internally. He co-managed the build-out and move to The Raben Group’s current office in Washington, DC. He currently manages the firm’s internship program, having supervised and worked with more than 60 students while at Raben the past four years.
John is not new to politics. Before joining Raben, John managed two state legislative campaigns in Wisconsin during the 2012 cycle – leading to the election of a young progressive to the state legislature, and almost unseating a long-serving conservative incumbent.
John loves to support and create positive social impact. Whether that’s through philanthropy, direct services, building of community, or movement campaigns, John wants to help his clients reach their full impact.
In his personal time, John serves as the Events and Fundraising Director of Stonewall Kickball-DC, a league of more than 750 LGBTQ individuals and allies brought together for philanthropy and community. A University of Wisconsin alumnus, John received a bachelor’s degree in political science and communication arts.
