Sydney Olay is an associate in Raben’s Government Affairs & Policy Council practice. She brings a strong research and writing background to help her corporate and nonprofit clients succeed.

Before joining Raben, Sydney worked as a staff assistant for Senator Alex Padilla (D-Calif.), assisting with foreign affairs, defense, and veterans affairs issues. While working for the senator, she also took on many operational roles, specifically managing the entire internship program. Before working in the Senate, she interned in Congressman Ted Lieu’s (D-Calif.) district office, where she solidified her interest in public policy.

Sydney was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. She attended the University of Southern California, where she received a bachelor’s degree in International Relations and a minor in Entrepreneurship. In her free time, she loves thrift shopping, trying new restaurants, and drinking matcha lattes.
